Huish Students go for gold at the Physics Olympiad
At the recent Physics Olympiad, 2 upper sixth Huish students qualified to take the 2nd round paper, sat nationally by over 1000 of the top physics students in the country. This consisted of a 3 hour paper of highly challenging questions, set to test the students’ problem-solving skills in areas well beyond the A level syllabus.
Sarah Thomas just missed out on a Gold Award, with a Silver that still puts her in the top 160 students nationwide. Â Jon Sykes gained an upper Bronze, placing him in the top third of the entrants. Congratulations go to them both!
